We have 2 flats just across the Accademia bridge, not in the same style of the hotel but modern and perfectly renovated.
We offer them when we're full at the hotel and always specify that we're full booked at the Galleria showing pictures of them.
So...no surprises.

Clearly, either the apartments or the Galleria are not 5 stars places and, for those confusing it we just remind that the Galleria is a one star hotel...a beautiful little star but one.

The Bauer Hotel is a top 5 star hotel (no competition, thank you!).

Our small rooms are 2 tiny cute doubles..now, many of you on the internet talk and we receive requests for the "big" rooms..

Dear friends, this is a small hotel, very small but this is what makes it very intimate and cosy.
The 2 small rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated, with antique furniture (not fake plastic stuff..) and, this is the treat, with a gorgeous view right upon the grand canal.
This is a 1 star hotel with no other ambitions than being cute and clean and giving to our guests a smile and all the support they may need to make their experience in Venice a pleasant one.

We also use to travel and very often when you book a 3 or even 4 stars hotel in London, New York or Milan, once you'll get your room keys and open the door you discover a "closet" which they call room, with a plastic bathroom and a view over the garages or worse...

So, don't have too many expectations about the Galleria, but be sure that we'll give you our best effort to make this little place the most comfortable and gracious we can to make your stay a nice memory of Venice.

A typically venetian activity is hanging around, having a glass of wine with a snack or better cicchetto.
When we were kids  a cicchetto was  a half egg with an anchovy, a good excuse to have then a glass of wine that we call ombra (shade), because the old venetians used to sit in the shade and have a glass of wine to find some rest in the hot summer days..
Still this use is very popular and tourists seem to love it too..
Very close to the hotel there's one of the best wine and cicchetti spot of Venice, cantina Schiavi, check it out, they have great wines and a huge selections of snacks to have out in the street along the canal of San Trovaso, right in front the oldest and still working gondola yard.
